Président Spreadable Brie and Asian pear crostini finished off with a drizzle of honey – The perfect holiday appetizer!
I don’t know about you but I always have a couple of packages of cheese in my fridge, especially around the holidays! Brie is always one of my go-to’s, but did you know there’s a spreadable kind? Total game-changer! If you haven’t yet discovered the magic of spreadable brie, it’s one of my favourites! Président Spreadable Brie is incredibly creamy and comes packaged in a tub. It’s the perfect addition to any charcuterie platter and in this case, holiday appetizer (and if we’re being real here, delish ALL YEAR ROUND!) Simply place on the table and your guests can dip it or spread it whatever floats their boat. It’s so convenient to have the spreadable-brie in a resealable protective container for maximum freshness and flavour.
Using this ultimate creamy Président Spreadable Brie, I wanted to share a very simple recipe your guests will absolutely love but won’t have you breaking a sweat! This is one of those recipes that can hardly be called a “recipe” because it’s really just assembling a few ingredients… but when it comes to holiday appetizers, isn’t that really the best kind? When I’m racing to get dinner ready and trying not to smear lipstick all over my face before guests ring the doorbell, the last thing I want to do is make overly complicated small eats! The flavour combination of creamy brie, crisp Asian pear, savoury thyme sprigs and sweet honey drizzle is one seriously perfect bite. Did I mention your guests will love them?!? The real takeaway here, one should never rush the application of lipstick because of a holiday appetizer or lack thereof.
PrintHoliday Appetizer: Brie and Asian Pear Crostini
Creamy brie and asian pear crostinis with sprigs of thyme finished off with a drizzle of honey.
- Prep Time: 5
- Cook Time: 10
- Total Time: 15 minutes
- Yield: 8-10 1x
Ingredients
1 baguette
olive oil
salt
1–2 asian pears, thinly sliced
1 package Président Spreadable Brie
honey
fresh thyme
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Slice the baguette into 1/4 inch thick slices and place on baking sheet. Drizzle them with olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt. Bake in the oven for approximately 10–12 minutes until lightly toasted and golden brown. Remove from the oven and set aside.
Thinly slice the asian pears and set aside.
To build crostini, spread Président Spreadable Brie on piece of the toasted baguette and layer with a slice of pear, drizzle some honey and add sprigs of thyme.
Notes
When cutting pears, you can drizzle a small amount of lemon juice over the slices to keep them from browning too much.
The baguette can be a day old. It works best to make the crostini.
A huge thank you to Président cheese for sponsoring this post. 🙂
