Vitamin C Booster Smoothie Bowl is loaded with strawberry, pineapple, and a mix of three different citrus fruits— It’s the perfect light breakfast or snack!
An orange a day keeps the doctor away…
This smoothie bowl was inspired by two things— My recent trip to Palm Springs and all the sunshine that finally made its way to Montreal! I’m a HUGE citrus fan but funny enough, I was never crazy about Grapefruit. It was until I my trip to Palm Springs. I had a smoothie at the airport and for the life of me I can’t remember the name, but it had California in the title and it was loaded with citrus including Grapefruit. I was hesitant at first, but being overly exhausted from the many flights we took, I needed a little boost.
I was converted by the first sip…
Now I’m a little obsessed with it! Not to mention it’s such a gorgeous fruit…But I digress. We need to talk about the loaded vitamin c smoothie bowl.
We’re back at it again with the easy no-sweat recipes and this one I was actually cold making it. You know, early morning, cold floors because we forgot to close a window the night before…? This is a “pull everything out of the freezer and dump it in a blender” kind of recipe and in my humble opinion, is one of the best. I used pre-frozen strawberries, and froze the citrus fruits and pineapple from fresh. I added a bit of water to give the blender a hand, but you can use coconut water, yogurt, or even milk if you’d like. Which ever you prefer totally works! The thing with smoothie bowls, is that they need to be thicker than your average drinkable smoothie, but if you’d rather this recipe in smoothie format, than just add a more liquid!
The toppings on the smoothie bowls are President’s Choice Ancient Grains & Super Seeds and the white drizzle/marble effect is actually one of my little dude’s favorite snacks, ÏOGO nano drinkable yogurt. You can top the smoothie bowls with anything your heart desires!
