Apple cinnamon raisin oatmeal is a breakfast meal that I can’t live without. There are only two meals that I can have for breakfast that will keep me full, and it’s oatmeal and eggs. This oatmeal screams Fall flavors! If you’ve been apple picking and still have tons of them you need to use, this recipe will help you out a little. Another great thing about this recipe is that it only takes 10 minutes to make!
A little fact about me, I wake up starving every morning. I’m really not too sure why or when it started, but I need to eat within 30 minutes of being awake. If that doesn’t happen, I get majorly “hangry”. Hungry + Angry= Hangry. When I was in high school, I was the complete opposite. I could barely stomach anything during the weekdays. Even a piece of toast wouldn’t stay down. Sad, right? So you can only imagine the lack of concentration I had in class, and I couldn’t wait for our first break. I never realized how important breakfast was, especially when eating the right foods!
Here’s the thing about oatmeal, it’s healthy to a certain extent. If you are getting those pre-made packs of instant oatmeal, they’re loaded with sugar, corn syrup and all kinds of artificial ingredients you simply should live without! Buying a bag of plain rolled or steel-cut oats and adding fresh ingredients, is definitely the route you want to take.
I love topping my oatmeal with nuts. A mix of crunch and creaminess is such a great combo. Walnuts and pecans are my favorite, but they are high in calories, as well as raisins. If you are watching your calorie intake, make sure you aren’t going overboard with those two ingredients.

Breakfast is one of my favorite meals of the day, after brunch. Although I consider brunch to be a holiday, so maybe it doesn’t count… Are you a morning/breakfast person?
