Affordable Anti-Aging Moisturizer — An in-depth review of Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream
This article is in partnership with Olay, however, all opinions are mine.
With the start of colder weather, in one form or another, we’re all probably dealing with some changes in our skin. Oh, how I didn’t miss you dry flakey skin. With that said, it’s probably time for a new face cream or moisturizer, right?
Having moisturized skin is one thing. Having a moisturizer that works harder for you is another. Not only does your skin look its best, but it also feels its best, which is something I learned to never take for granted – AKA my new mantra as I entered my 30’s.
Without further ado, let’s talk about the star that is literally saving my dry skin, the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream!
Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream
If there’s one thing I learned in my skincare journey (and I’ve learned a many) is that ingredients matter! No matter how expensive the product is, you need to know if they have the correct formula for your skin type. Olay’s Micro-Sculpting Cream is an affordable anti-aging moisturizer combined with Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Hyaluronic Acid and Amino Peptides. Without getting too Bill Nye on you (I’m about to below) this combo makes for an ultra-hydrating, skin-firming & smoother extraordinaire!
As our skin ages, its regeneration tends to slow down, and skin care with peptides can help replenish what your skin is losing. The result is more plump and bouncy skin.
To clearly showcase this, I officially welcome you to Kris’ Hydration Station Skin Lab! In this video below, I put the cream to the test against a $200 cream. In separate bowls, I added the creams to moisture beads (which act like your skin cells) and let it sit overnight to see which beads would soak up the most moisture. The results are in the science! Olay’s cream beat out the $200 cream by a landslide. You’ll notice how much the moisture beads expanded. This anti-aging skincare is a true drugstore dupe!
My updated fall/winter skincare routine
This past February, I shared about my skin journey and a newfound love for Olay Retinol 24 and how much it changed my skin – texture, acne, acne scarring & overall brightness. Well, applying the Olay Micro-Sculpting Cream after the retinol serum is a winning combo, my friends! When I wake up in the morning, my skin looks more hydrated than ever and dare I say bouncy? Ok, the correct word is plump, but bouncy works too, right?!
The cream itself feels luxurious, yet is lightweight on the skin and quickly absorbs without any oily or greasy residue. In the end, it leaves my skin feeling comfortable, smooth, and completely hydrated. P.S. for my acne-prone, sensitive-skinned babes! There is an Olay Micro-Sculpting Cream fragrance-free formula.
What are the key things you look for when picking up a new moisturizer? Have you started to update your skincare routine?
