This article is in partnership with California Raisins, however, all opinions are mine.
It’s that time of year when we add pumpkin spice to ALL the things and these granola bars are no exception! They’re the perfect fall-inspired snack and filled with one of my favourite ingredients, raisins. From sweet to savoury, breakfast to dinner, California Raisins are a perfect addition to any dish! When baked, the raisins have a soft texture and add natural sweetness to the granola bars.
Delicious and healthy, these bars are the perfect way to indulge my sweet tooth without throwing nutrition completely out the window… Perfect as an after-school snack for the kiddos and a great energy boost for all those Fall hikes we’re taking!
A few notes on the Spiced Pumpkin-Raisin Granola Bars…
To toast or not to toast? This step is optional, but I believe toasting your oats makes the granola bars far tastier! I bake the dry oats in the oven on a baking sheet for about 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
Choice of sweetener: California Raisins bring natural, sun-dried sweetness, while sweetened condensed milk serves as a binder. Unlike the typical honey and maple syrup varieties, sweetened condensed milk is a great option that adds calcium and protein to the bars.
Dried fruit, nuts & seeds swaps: I added raisins, pumpkin seeds and slivered almonds to the recipe. You can always make a few simple swaps of ingredients for an allergy-friendly version. Hemp seeds and chia seeds are great options and they’ll add a nutritious boost as well.
