It’s been fifty-leven days, umpteen hours, we’ve been testing out the Endy mattress and I’m sharing my honest review! *Ok, more like a hundred nights…
before our Endy mattress
Before our Endy journey, we owned a queen size high profile pillow top mattress. You know, the inexpensive one from Costco? After about 3 years in, it caved in on one side and that’s when the worst year of sleep began. We would both toss and turn all night, keeping each other awake. Every single morning we woke up with bad back pains, kinks, and not in the happiest of moods. Now mix bad, uncomfortable sleep with a dude who wakes up anywhere between 4-5 am. It would be an understatement to say that we were struggling. We’ll save that story for another time though.
receiving our mattress
In November, we received a King Mattress, two King Pillows and a King Duvet. Yes, we made the upgrade from a queen to king and O-M-G we were already super ecstatic about that! BUT how we would be receiving this mattress, was a tough sell to the Mister. See, he’s a bit old school when it comes to shopping – He prefers to go in-store for almost everything. When I told him we were receiving the mattress in a box on our doorstep, I wish I could have filmed his reaction, but here’s the short version.
Mr.:” Wait, no. Are you sure? I don’t know about this… ”
Me: ” Yes, it will be ok! ”
The first week was surprisingly very comfortable. It felt a little more soft than firm but we learned that it takes a full week for the mattress to settle. We had some of the best nights of sleep we’ve ever had in a looooonnnnggggg time during the first week, then the second week came. I won’t lie to you, it was a little though. Even though we would get aches every morning from our old mattress, we somewhat got used to sleeping on it. Now with a whole new surface, we had a break-in/adjustment period. We found ourselves waking up with middle back pain and questioned if we made the right decision. THANKFULLY, the adjustment period only lasted about a week and a half. The body aches went away and we were finally able to enjoy and test out the Endy Mattress.
100 nights later
I just need to say it…I FREAKIN’ LOVE OUR ENDY MATTRESS! It’s also safe to say that our little (big) dude loves it just as much, seeing that he now wants to sleep with me every night. *Yes, dude. Mommy and Daddy will get you one too, ok!? Let’s jump into the review, shall we?
Firmness: I would say it has a medium firmness. It feels soft but also gives you a ton of support. So don’t worry, you’re not sinking into the mattress. The Mr. and I are both combo sleepers. I like to sleep on my side and back, while Mr. goes from his side and stomach. I feel like my back and spine are well supported.
Motion Transfer: Remember when I mentioned we would spend our night tossing and turnings keeping each other awake? Since we switch sleeping positions, I was curious how much we could still feel one another moving around. Being a light or heavy sleeper comes in to play, but for the most part, if it is minor tossing and turning, we don’t feel too much. I can feel it when the Mr. or our dude comes in and out of the bed. Mr., on the other hand, doesn’t feel a thing.
Breathable: Not having experienced other foam mattresses, I don’t have the vast knowledge of how well the Endy holds up in terms of heat distribution and breathability in comparison to traditional foam ones. BUT I can say that we sleep very comfortably and never feel like we’re overheating.
Pillows: Ok, so I know this is a review on the mattress, but I couldn’t help but bring up the pillows too. They are customizable shredded bamboo charcoal memory foam pillows. As shown in the photos below, you can easily remove and add the filling to your desired comfort. It comes with a mesh pouch that you can store the filling into, not to mention it would be a great travel pillow as well.
why we would buy another Endy mattress
While I talked about comfort because that’s what we all want to know when it comes to buying a new mattress, I also wanted to note a few reasons that have made us HUGE fans of the mattress and company altogether. You know, outside of the overall comfort.
Canadian: Oh, Canada. How I love you so! Not only do you make the best maple syrup, ketchup chips and caesars, but you also make a dreamy mattress! Supporting local businesses is something that’s very near and dear to my heart. Although I’ve made a huge point to do so with our local produce and small household products, I never really thought about a mattress until Endy came around.
Delivered in a box: We live on the second floor of a condo and bringing large pieces of furniture isn’t always a good time up an awkward flight of stairs. Special shoutout to the delivery guys who brought up the new appliances two years ago sweating (and swearing) the whole way up! Having the mattress come to your doorstep in a pretty fair-sized box, made it so easy! And look ma, no sweating (or swearing)!
Removable cover: It has a removable mattress cover and if you have kids or simply a little clumsy, this feature is key! Spills, gastro, or pee. Yes, these are things that parents have to think about and I’m glad we don’t have to stress about it now!
Sizes: I love that the mattress comes in multiple sizes. From Twin to California King, everyone in the family can have one and it’s all from the same manufacturer.
Risk-free trial: Ok, this is a big one. You have 100 nights to decide if you love it! If not, they’ll pick it up and give you a full refund! Easy peasy!
Have you thought about getting an Endy mattress?
Sweet dreams!
