Summer Summer Summertime
Summer, you are lemonade stands, the ice cream man and BBQ food.
You are fireworks, bicycle bells and sprinklers.
You are laughter, music and good times.
Gah, we just love you, summer.
We’re a couple of weeks into Summer break and boy are we having the best time! We went to our first summer block party at Quartier DIX30 and now we can officially cross that off our checklist called “what the cool kids do in the summer”. ? Not to worry though, you won’t be getting any FOMO because their event is happening all weekend! If you’re wanting to check it out yourself, keep on scrolling, as I’ll be sharing all the deets of The Quartier’s Block Party.
Endless hugs and thanks to Quartier DIX30 for sponsoring this post and partnering with us! As always, opinions and good times are 100% our own!
If you haven’t been to Quartier DIX30 in Brossard yet, this is definitely the weekend to do so— From July 6th to July 7th, it’s the first edition of The Quartier’s Block Party. Here are all the fun things you’ll get to experience:
Urban Bazaar
Many stores like Pottery Barn, Urban Outfitters, Khiel’s and Linen Chest, will set up pop up shops outdoors. While you’re strolling along checking out all the goodies, you’ll be bobbin’ your head along and dancing to some good tunes— They have 3 DJ stations!
Fun for the kids
Like I mentioned before, this is a super family-friendly event. The streets in the setup areas are blocked off to cars, so that’s one stress you don’t need to fret! From lifesize chess to blow up flamingos (Jude’s fave), the kids will have plenty of fun exploring and playing. Not to mention, there’s a Pop Workshop for kids, where they can do some crafts.
Live Art
Beautiful colourful art! It’s the first thing that caught my attention and it made this mamas soul real happy. While walking through DIX30, your head will be turning everywhere at all the gorgeous art. You’ll find this mural you see below, across Sporting Life! We went right at opening and got to see a bunch of artists live in action painting crosswalks. I can’t wait to head back and see all the finished masterpieces—#Shoefies anyone?
Terraces
Restaurants like 30 SOUS ZERO and CRUX COMPTOIR, will set up terraces. So you can kick back and have a meal, all while enjoying the fun atmosphere of the Block Party!
Free bike lending program
Ditch the car and borrow one of DIX30’s bikes! It’s a fun way to get around and visit all of your favourite spots.
Before I leave you, I wanted to mention something that DIX30 did that’s a permanent addition to the shopping district…
Salon Bleu
It’s a dedicated space to families with Autism. Filled with natural light, it’s calming minimal space with books, a few toys, stuffed friends and poufs galore! Not to mention some of us mama’s favourite word, WIFI. If someone in your party with autism needs a moment to decompress, simply go to their Guest Services and ask to use their Salon Bleu, and they will kindly escort you. They are located at 6000 de Rome Boulevard, entrance #1, on the ground floor.
While we were there, Jude got pretty overwhelmed by the heat and his surroundings, so it was really nice to have space, where he can calm his sensory and feel, grounded. Now I wish every shopping centre would take DIX30s lead and create more wonderful areas like this.

Happy Summer!
