Caesars, Sunshine, and Friends!

When it comes to summer drinks, there’s truly nothing I love more than a delicious Caesar with friends while laughing it up enjoying the sunshine, and with Canada Day around the corner, I was immediately inspired by our national drink to create an effortless hosting idea. Now, you know when it comes to entertaining, I’m all about making recipes without breaking a sweat and plating it like you made it, but my last and certainly not least tip is to alleviate a bit of your hosting duties by having guests serve themselves. What cuter way than a Caesar Bar! Now let’s dive into all the details, shall we?!

A Caesar and a Bloody Mary are similar but have key ingredients that totally set them apart. Unlike the Bloody Mary that is made with tomato juice, A Caesar is made with Clamato juice which is a little thicker in consistency and flavored with spices and clam broth.

It’s no secret that HomeSense is one of my go-to’s when it comes to all things cute for entertaining. Just about everything pictured can be found in-store, but I need to make a special mention to a few pieces that I found that were a total steal. First and foremost, the outdoor Bar Cart that was love at first sight!

Pink, $79.99, and folds up slim when it isn’t in use. #HOLLA Need I say more?

The cutest glasses with a typical Canadian’s most used word, “Sorry”…But we’re seriously sorry that we’re not sorry for saying sorry so much. I also just loved the metal bucket that I found to hold all those bottles of Caesar!

For the decor, I really wanted to keep things minimal and added a pop of pink for a not-so-traditional Canada Day party. The glasses with the gold writing and maple leaves definitely gave the Canadian touches that we needed. Since the decor is so minimal, I’m able to use the items any time of year without feeling like I’m celebrating Canada Day in February. 😉 So whether it’s Canada Day or any summer party, a Caesar bar is always a good idea!

Must haves for a Caesar bar is Caesar (of course), Vodka, and glasses, but garnishes are really where it’s at! I went for celery, spicy beans, pickles, limes, lemons and a few different seasoning mixtures for the rim of the glass, but the toppings are totally customizable! If you want to make your drink protein-rich, then add some bacon, pepperoni sticks, and shrimp to the bar. Since my setup is outdoors, I omitted to put cheese out since I prefer eating it cold and not cooked under the sun. 😉

Also, you can’t forget about the hot sauce! I always take a gander through the gourmet section at HomeSense and it’s exciting discovering new brands and foods! I found a couple of different hot sauces, pickles and seasonings for the rim of the glass.

Here’s my favorite mixture:

-4 oz Clamato (tomato juice)
-2 oz Vodka
-1 Lemon wedge
-1 Lime wedge
-2 dashes Chipotle Tabasco sauce
-2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
– Salt + Pepper to taste
– Celery, Spicy Pickle + Bean for garnish
